The United States will discuss the new legislation with Taiwan next month which is designed for the development of the American Semiconductor industry.
The news came on Wednesday from the top U.S. diplomat in Taipei.
However, in September Biden signed the Chips and Science Act, which will give $52 billion as a subsidy to semiconductor-producing companies and research centers.
However, the U.S. government is doing all this to encourage foreign tech firms to manufacture in the U.S. As they have welcomed Taiwan TSMC and GlobalWafers Co.
This will increase foreign investment in the country.
That is why next month the U.S. government is going to discuss this new legislation with Taiwan.
In addition director of the American Institute in Taiwan, Sandra Oudkirk told an industry forum that US-Taiwan Technology Trade and Investment Collaboration, TTIC, has prioritized U.S.-Taiwan economic engagements.
She said that with this powerful platform, which was launched last “we are addressing challenges in the semiconductor space,”.
However, she added that the next collaboration conference or ” engagement” will take place in Washington from Oct. 12-14. They are going to have a “roundtable discussion” on the implementation of the new legislation in the United States. But she didn’t elaborate on this point.
So this means that Taiwan is mirroring the United States as they are their biggest International supporter and also an Arms supplier, and they are their loyal friends. Although the world is facing challenges in
auto production and consumer electronics because of the crunch of chips.
So this reveals the strong relationship between Taiwan and U.S.
However, as a result of this Legislation and subsidy TSMC, is going to construct a $12 billion plant in the U.S. state of Arizona. TCMC is the largest contract chipmaker and, a major Apple Inc supplier.
However, this looks like a new strategy for the United States for tackling the tech giant China on the international level. So this could also be the reason behind the discussion between the United States with Taiwan which is going to take place next month.
