Hailing the exhibition of Shan Masood, the captain says he will quantifiably be allowed an opportunity in the ODI series against West Indies.

LAHORE: Pakistan captain Babar Azam on Wednesday said the Green Shirts were planning for the impending home series against West Indies considering the 50-over ICC World Cup 2023.

Three ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League One-Day Internationals among Pakistan and the West Indies will be played at Multan Cricket Stadium on June 8, 10, and 12.

Conversing with columnists, Babar said, “It feels significantly better to meet and collaborate with the media in this manner [physically]. The cricketers had been holding virtual question and answer sessions and media talks because of the COVID-19 episode.

Answering an inquiry concerning Multan’s weather patterns, Babar Azam said it will be burning intensity in the city however they were setting themselves up to play in the blistering climate.

“We are eager to play in the post-COVID situation,” the captain said, adding that the series is vital for them as they would get focuses subsequent to winning the counterparts for the impending World Cup.

Azam promised the Green Shirts will give their 100 percent in all fields of the game during the impending series against West Indies.

‘Great combo with Rizwan’

Allowing Muhammad Haris an opportunity as an initial batsman would be juvenile now, the captain said, adding that the blend of Muhammad Rizwan and him as the openers has been working out positively.

The cricketer, notwithstanding, said that the exhibition of Haris and different cricketers will be assessed in the instructional course.

Babar further expressed that putting Shan Masood on a later position would be a treachery with him as he plays in the top request. Hailing the exhibition of Masood, the captain said he will quantifiably be allowed an opportunity in the ODI series.

‘Playing great in all configurations requires difficult work’

“I’m great in white-ball organization and will attempt to perform better in Test too,” he said, adding that he will attempt to work on his positioning.

“I dream to be no 1 in every one of the three organizations yet for that difficult work is required,” he said, adding that he is striving to accomplish this objective.

“It is expected to allow constant opportunity to players to make a decent group,” the captain said.
